She smiled as she saw he two boys run around the front yard playing with themselves. What would she make the boys for lunch today? The older son's favorite lunch meal was a turkey sandwich while the younger son rather enjoyed a ham sandwich. Suddenly, she heard a small scream from outside. "Are you guys okay?" she asked as she rushed out the front door. A cold hollow wind passed by but nothing. It had been three years since the army officers came to deliver her son's helmets. Three years since the war ended.  Tweet: Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell Author's Note: The short story is something I came up with myself as I was watching an old war film. I cannot imagine the number of mothers that waited days and nights for their sons or husbands to return from war. I th

Tech Tip

Image
For this tech tip, I decided to go with the bloggerprofile. In this exercise, I was able to change my profile picture that displays to the world. I chose the picture of my cat, Ziggy, who is sitting on the recliner in such position that is so human. This picture is my profile picture for numerous other accounts that I have on the internet and I think it is a decent representation of how I feel most of the time: relaxed and annoyed.  (Image Information: Personal Photo of my cat, Ziggy.   (Image Information: Are you a 'Weekend' Alcoholic?:  https://www.henryford.com/blog/2018/04/weekend-alcoholic) Short Story: There once was a high school Freshmen student named, Noah. Noah was an A+ student who was involved in numbers of extracurricular activities. One day, Noah and his friend, Ray, were hanging out and were invited to a party that night. Having never drank alcohol before, Noah was incoherently drunk when the cops showed up to bust the party later that night. Noah began to run, but was caught up quickly by the police car. When the police officers got out to chase him, he began running around them in a circle in order to avoid them. However, being so drunk, Noah thought he could hide in a front yard of a house nearby and pose as a garden gnome. Noah said to the police after crouching down in front of the house, "You can't see me, I'm a gnome.' The cops then tackled Noah and he was arrested.  Tweet: woke up sexy as hell again I'm so embarras

Reading: Europe Part B

Bibliography: Europe's Fairy Book by Joseph Jacobs and illustrated by John Batten (1916) http://mythfolklore.blogspot.com/2014/05/myth-folklore-unit-europas-fairy-book.html (Image Information: The Soldier lays a honey trap)  -Unlike the Disney Cinderella story we all know and love, in the original story Cinderella goes to the dance twice. The first time, the maid impresses the Prince during the dance but has to go home before midnight as that is the limit of the magic. -After she goes home, the Prince goes crazy as no one seemed to know who the mysterious girl was. So, as they hold another ball/dance, the Prince orders his soldiers to put glue tar on the lower steps of the stairs, so her shoes would get stuck and he would find out who the girl was. -Like the first dance, when the sisters came home, they mocked the maid and did not realize how much fun she was actually having.  -The King ordered the soldiers to take the golden shoe around the entire kingdom trying to see who would

The story is told in older text, rather than easier basic English like the Cinderella story that we have been told. -The story takes place in an old kingdom where a Prince is having trouble looking for a new wife. The King holds a ball in the kingdom where he will invite all the families and their daughters, hoping to find his son a future Queen. -Upon hearing the news, all the single ladies in the kingdom planned to go the dance to capture the Prince's heart. There was a maid though, a daughter of a noble who was set to do all the drudgery and the chores of the house. They called her Cinder-maid

Back up and Review

Image
The first post on the weekly announcement was a picture of nemo in at his house. That poor guy went through so much and I'm glad to see him finally resting up at home.  The video I watched was the gif of the wheel-shaped diagram featuring the 12 zodiac signs. Now, I personally am not a believer of the zodiac signs as I believe anyone can relate to virtually anything and any situation in some way. However, I respect those who do believe in it, I think it's a pretty cool way to predict our behaviors or even the future by looking at the beautiful stars. Now, as this is one of my last post for this course, I just wanted to finalize my thoughts. It has been a tough semester with my mother going through surgery, and my parents actually moving to Michigan on such short notice. Everything is fine though, as my sister and I are well old enough to handle our own once we both graduate from OU. Or I hope, at least. This course was honestly just a lot of fun as I was able to explore areas

Growth Mindset

Image
It is not about how one falls, but rather how one gets up after falling. The human brain is a magnificent factor of our lives. How we interpret certain situations and apply certain logic, is how the human society functions. Personally, I have spent the last four years at the University of Oklahoma trying to grow and mature in the mind. Your attitude, motivation, and thoughts all base on your mindset. I once was an intelligent, but extremely lazy individual. School was a breeze up until I came to OU. When I first realized that I would actually have to keep myself on schedule and be responsible for studying and ultimately my own life, I was very intimidated. Trying to keep up the same mindset every day in order to motivate myself was not easy at first. I kept finding myself wanting to go back to my old habits and keep on letting the world rotate around me. At the end, the more I thought about my future and how I want to be successful in order to support those that I love in the future,

Tech Tips: DuckDuckGO

Image
I recently started using DuckDuckGo as my main search browser and I have quiet enjoyed the process a lot. DuckDuckGo does not track your personal information which means it is not in the business of selling your personal information to advertisers like Google. In today's age and time, personal information and data is money and large corporations such as Google live off of tracking down people's activities and information all across their platforms.  (Image Information: DuckDuckGO:  http://onlinecourselady.pbworks.com/w/page/135100995/duckduckgo)
